Rural Liberty man dies in single-vehicle wreck

INDEPENDENCE — A rural Liberty man died in a single-vehicle roller accident southeast of Independence on Sunday morning.

 

Sheriff Robert Dierks said Jonathan Couch of rural Liberty was killed when his 2002 Chevrolet crossed the center of county road 4576 and 4000, slid sideways into a ditch, rolled several times and caught fire. Couch was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Couch was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

 

The wreckage was discovered by another motorist at about 8:30 a.m., Sunday.
