CHERRYVALE — Military veterans will be recognized and saluted in Cherryvale’s annual Veterans Day parade set for 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 10 in downtown Cherryvale.
The parade will begin at Depot and Main streets and proceed west through the downtown business district, south on Liberty Street and terminate at Logan Park.
Members of the Cherryvale Community Men’s group will provide a free lunch to veterans, their families and the public following the parade.
The Kansas Commission on Veterans’ Affairs will have its Enhanced Mobile Unit (EMU) available at the park to assist veterans with any issues or matters related to veterans’ benefits. Ryan Knop, EMU representative, will be available to handle matters related to disability compensation, health care benefits, education and G.I. Bill benefits, home loan and life insurance guarantees, and pension issues.
