One of the largest entertainment events in Caney will be held on Saturday night, Nov. 10, when the Lincoln Memorial Elementary School Carnival takes place. The cafeteria will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. to sell a variety of food items and the booths and games will be open from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

This year’s carnival will see a number of the regular games and booths returning as well as some several new games: Basketball Throw, Bucket Toss, Photo Booth and Hole in One or Two.

Carnival tickets will sell for 4/$1 and wristbands will be $6 (for 8th grade and younger and cannot be used to play bingo). Tickets will be available in the school office area or in the gym. Pre-ticket sales have been held this week before and after school and will continue on Friday from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. with tickets selling 5/$1 and wristbands $5.

This year’s game rooms include: Bingo (in two locations), Football Toss, Baseball Toss, Golf, Picture Booth/Cotton Candy, Gone Fishing, Duck Pond, Snack Walk, Pop Toss (two locations), Bucket Toss, Basketball Throw, Plinko, Dice Throw, Dessert Walk, Tattoos, Spin the Wheel and Popcorn/Cotton Candy.

The cafeteria will be serving a menu of chili ($3), brisket sandwich ($3), Frito chili pie ($3), chili dog ($3), nachos ($1.50), hot dogs ($1.50), dill pickle (50¢), and dessert ($1.00), pop, $1.00). The Meal Deal is the choice of one entree, dessert and drink for $4.50.

Door prizes for both adults and kids will also be given away throughout the evening. Register for door prizes in the main hallway.

The carnival has been a school tradition for many years and proceeds from the event are used by the Lincoln Boosters to purchase items for students, teachers and the school building.

A number of Lincoln Boosters, parents and friends have been busy the past several months planning and organizing the carnival, and they are hoping for a large turnout to this annual event featuring lots of fun, food and prizes.

Serving on the 2012 Lincoln Carnival Committee are Carrie Kaminska, Terra Freisberg, Susan Rogers, Mandy Perkins and Stacy Stapleton.
