Indiana woman injured in wreck northwest of Cherryvale

CHERRYVALE — An Indiana woman was injured in a car-semi collision on U.S. 400 highway  west of county road 4900 (or about seven miles northwest of Cherryvale) on Monday night.

 

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Lora M. Fleek, age 39, of North Vernon, Ind., was eastbound on U.S. 400 in a 2003 Cadillac when she drove left of center and struck a semi tractor trailer driven by Terrance Lee Wright, age 59, of Osawatomie, Kan.

Wright was not injured in the collision, however Fleek had to be extricated from the vehicle wreckage and taken to Labette County Medical Center via Cherryvale EMS.

 

Traffic on U.S. 400 was blocked for more than 30 minutes while emergency crews handled the extrication and also cleared the scene.
