UPDATED: Coffeyville PD investigating hit-and-run incident

A statement from the Coffeyville Police Department issued on Friday afternoon . . .

 

The Coffeyville Police Department has identified and contacted the suspect of a hit and run accident which occurred on Oct. 24 at the intersection of Ohio and First streets near Coffeyville Community Elementary School.

 

No arrest has been made at this time and officers are continuing the investigation.

 

The police department would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.

The Coffeyville Police Department is investigating a hit and run motor vehicle incident which occurred Wednesday morning at the intersection of Ohio and First streets near Coffeyville Community Elementary School.

The collision occurred when a vehicle struck an 11-year-old boy who was within a crosswalk walking to school. The driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene after the accident and has not been located. The boy sustained minor injuries and was not hospitalized.

 

The vehicle was described as a gold or brown passenger vehicle, possibly a Pontiac Grand Prix or similar style car. The driver was described as a white or Hispanic male with dark hair in his late 30s.
