INDEPENDENCE — Leon T. Russell, age 101, of Independence died Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, 2012, at Mercy Hospital. He had been a resident of Regal Estates Nursing Home for several years.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Tyson Wade Diver, age 24 of Las Vegas Nev., and formerly of the Independence-Cherryvale area, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident in Las Vegas.

 

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tyson Wade Diver Memorial Scholarship Fund. Tyson attended school in Cherryvale.

CANEY — Caney native Margaret Marie (Hannon) Scimeca, age 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, in McKinney, Texas.

 

Scimeca spent much of her early years in Caney before graduating from Arp (Texas) High School.

She was married to former Caney resident Dr. William B. Scimeca.

Mobbs, who graduated from Cherryvale High School, died on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 from injuries that were incurred from an automobile accident on Jan. 15, 2009.
