COFFEYVILLE — Dorothy Evelyn Kimbrel, age 95, of rural Coffeyville died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 at the home of her son, Darrel.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Pastor Brad Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Coffeyville’s Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family receiving guests at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas and may be left at the funeral home.

Charles “Bud” Duane Thompson

INDEPENDENCE — Charles “Bud” Duane Thompson, age 89, of Independence and former owner of Peoples State Bank in Cherryvale, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at Regal Estates in Independence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at St. Andrew Catholic Church with to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Independence with military honors.

Bud will lay in state on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., at Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. The rosary will be prayed at St. Andrew atholic Church at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13.

Frank P. Clubine

IOLA — Former Havana resident Frank P. Clubine, age 74, of Iola, Kan., died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel in Iola.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola. The Rev. Gene McIntosh will officiate.

Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Crum Cemetery south of Longton, Kan.

The family has requested memorials to Gideons or the Calvary United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
